The #RangeChallenge offers an ongoing series of target shooting challenges and an incentive system that promotes firearm safety, mentorship, training and shooting sports awareness. Shooting facilities are encouraged to sign up to receive a package of official #RangeChallenge targets. Shooters who participate in the #RangeChallenge will be entered to win one of 10 gift cards valued at $500.00 each.
Participate in the #RangeChallenge
1. Download & Print the Target
To begin your #RangeChallenge journey, download and print the target. You can find it on the #RangeChallenge website or obtain one at a participating National Shooting Sports Month range. Go to the participate page and hit the download target.
2 Find a Range / Shoot Your Target
Use the Shooting Sports Month host/events map to find a participating range near you or print the target and try it out at your local range.
3 Ready?
Review the game instructions (courses of fire) on the target and take aim!
4 Enter to Win Gear!
After shooting, upload a photo of you and/or your target OR post a photo or video to your Instagram feed using the hashtag #RangeChallenge for your chance to win one of ten $500 gift cards.
But Don’t Stop There! Spread the word by challenging others to try it out and introduce someone new through the #RangeChallenge. Here are three easy ways to spread the fun:
- Tag three friends on social media and invite them to the range.
- Share your experience and encourage friends to try it out.
- Share your experience and tag your favorite gun range, firearm retailers and manufacturers.

Are you a range owner?
Shooting facilities are encouraged to sign up to receive a package of official #RangeChallenge targets. When completing the sign-up form, click on the “Add an Event or Promotion” button and select #RangeChallenge Target Games under “Event Type” or contact Zach Snow for further assistance at [email protected] / 203-426-1320 ext. 224. NSSF will also send partnering ranges a promotional package of National Shooting Sports Month items while supplies last. An updated #RangeChallenge Toolkit will help ranges with their marketing and communications efforts tied to this entertaining activity. Companies and organizations should also use the toolkit resources to promote participation in this activity throughout August.
